NEW DELHI: From arranging facilities in advance for disabled people to shopping from among hundreds of brands, everything will now be just a click away atIndira Gandhi International airport (IGI). "flyDEL", a mobile application launched by the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), will not only help passengers explore available facilities at the airport but also give real-time flight information.
Launched on August 29, the app has gained a noticeable popularity with more than 4,500 downloads till date. DIAL said that be it a first-time traveller or a frequent flyer, the airport will seem familiar to everyone with the help of this new app. It has a number of features such as options to locate places to eat, shop, valet parking, and directing a passenger to the lost-and-found section.
"A person who needs special assistance at the airport and is travelling from or to IGI can notify the staff and book facilities as required," an airport official said.
The app can be downloaded from iTunes or Androidapp store and logged in through various social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
DIAL said it has plans to further upgrade the app to make it more interactive and dynamic for users by adding features like cab and hotel bookings, shopping offers at the airport, interactive 3D navigation ensuring end-to-end passenger benefits to give everyone a great experience while flying in and out of the Delhi airport.
